I never saw Jacob attacking Rosalie as heroic. If Edward her mate and who has equal vampire instincts doesn't try to stop Rosalie but instead tries to prop Bella up so she can breathe didn't drop kick Rosalie why did Jacob have to slam her into the door and buckle it? It was silly just like the dog bowl, blonde jokes, etc.

Jacob always got the last laugh.  She makes a dog reference, he makes a blonde joke.  She feeds him in a dog bowl, he throws it at her head.  She assists with the birth, and he kicks her across the room.  She dotes on the baby, he imprints on her so Renesmee loves him best.

I don’t know, I just feel bad for Rosalie.  She’s supposed to be one of the good guys but she’s always getting blamed for everything and yelled at by everyone.  In Twilight she’s demonized for thinking that letting Bella into their lives is dangerous (she was proven right time and time again).  In New Moon she’s blamed for the Volterra disaster when it was Bella who jumped off a cliff, ALICE who didn’t bother calling to tell anyone that Bella was alive for TWO DAYS, and Edward who overreacted.  Did Rosalie have a part in that clusterfudge?  Sure.  There was plenty of blame to go around.  But it was NOT all her fault, and Alice and Edward acting like it was (when really I feel like Alice NOT TELLING ANYONE BELLA WAS ALIVE is the most to blame, I mean really!!) was not fair.  In Eclipse Bella dismisses Rosalie’s sincere warnings and then in Breaking Dawn she’s made out to be the bad guy for doing exactly what Bella wanted her to do.

I just feel bad for poor Rosalie, mostly.  lol.

I'm with you on this one; if it had been Alice or Esme SM would have written that scene much differently since both characters are team Bella. Neither of them would have lost control and would have pushed through their thirst to support whom they both love so very much (and who SM cares for far more than Rosalie) through that difficult moment.

I just can’t imagine SM allowing anyone to kick Esme across the room.  Nor Alice.  I just don’t understand why she had to humiliate Rosalie in this way.  It’s like her comeuppance for putting the baby’s life ahead of Bella’s, but THAT WAS WHAT BELLA HERSELF WAS DOING and what BELLA HERSELF WANTED.   So why on EARTH should she be punished for it?

Rosalie should have been there with Edward delivering that baby.  This was supposed to be her triumph, but instead she was humiliated.  Rosalie has been to medical school, Rosalie wants this baby more than anything, Rosalie has iron-will and incredible self control—she killed humans as a newborn and didn’t drink their blood.   The way it played out made it sort of seem like “yes! Jacob finally got to kick Rosalie’s ass!” rather than “Jacob heroically got between Bella and a vampire.”  Because the vampire WAS Rosalie, it was hard to tell if it was pure instinct on Jacob’s part or if it WAS personal retribution.  If it had been Alice or Esme he flung around, we would have known for sure it was simply protective instinct and nothing more.  With Rosalie… it’s ambiguous.

i didn't question what jake did during the birth. he was fighting off a vampire (rosalie or not) who was going into a frenzy after seeing and smelling bella's blood. she wanted to bite bella, and B couldn't be turned before the baby was out. rosalie wouldn't have wanted to hurt bella, even though her instinct was forcing her to try. also, R's an incredibly strong and fast vampire. jake had to move quickly (and harshly) or she could have been on bella in a millisecond.

If Rosalie hadn’t ‘died’ the way she did it probably wouldn’t have bothered me much, but given that she was beaten to death by men, idk, it just made me uncomfortable.  I get why Jacob did it, I just don’t really understand why SM chose to write it that way.  Why do that to Rosalie?  Why take away her perfect control AND beat her up?  If SM wanted the drama, why couldn’t Alice have been in the room and be the one to lose it?  IDK it just seems like Rosalie is always the one who gets treated poorly.  She was the one who supported Bella’s pregnancy from the start, she should have been able to share in this moment, not be humiliated.

This saddens me to an extent because I really feel that Rosalie and Esme deserved to have the chance that Bella got. Yes I’m aware that vampire women cannot change therefore would not be able to carry out a pregnancy but still, why was it it Bella who never wanted a child that got one and Rosalie and Esme were left to always wonder? Yes, they would've had Renesmee now but it’s not the same as being a mother. Scenes I see them shows me how truly great they would've been. Or atleast better than B

It really is unfair.  I mean I guess that’s life, we don’t always get what we want.  But Bella didn’t want children at all—a month before Renesmee was born (a month!!) her response to Edward wishing they had the possibility of children was “gah” and she said that children never appealed to her because they seemed to be “loud creatures, often dripping some form of goo.”  Rosalie and Esme have been longing for it for decades.

But my biggest problem is that there is nothing in the books of Bella actually talking to them about this.  I would have felt so much better about the situation if there had been any hint that Bella actually talked to Rose like, “I know this must be hard for you, but I want you to know I want you to be a big part of the baby’s life.”  Just SOMETHING to demonstrate she understood how they felt, but there’s nothing.

I don’t know, in a way this just seems MORE cruel.  Now Rosalie and Esme can’t have kids, AND get to watch Bella be a mom for all eternity.  It’s probably nice to have a niece/granddaughter, but in the book Nessie never calls them Aunt or Grandma (not once!).  Bella’s the one she reaches for and calls Momma.  Esme and Rose will never have that.  Esme’s baby died after a few days, but Bella’s child will live forever. I thought Bella was the one who was supposed to have bad luck they could bottle and make a weapon out of?

Twilight confession

twilightfandom:

I honestly love rosalie hale. She is such a diverse character with such a deep meaning and backstory. On the outside she seems perfect, like a dream come true straight out of an airbrushed magazine or fairy tale. Everybody thinks she is the most beautiful person ever, and she is. But on the inside she isn’t perfect. Her humanity was ripped away from her without a choice. Sure, she has emmett, but she will never have her perfect happy ending that she had always envisioned. She can’t grow old, have new opportunities, and most importantly have a child. You always desire what you can’t have, and she wants a baby, which she will never have. She may have renesmee, but it wont be the same. All she wants is to be human, to have the opportunities that everybody else has. People want to be immortal and perfect and beautiful, but all she just wants to do is be normal like she was supposed to be, to live and then die like life is supposed to happen. She may seem mean and cold, but she has a reason to act the way that she does, and when she seems like she is acting mean to bella by telling her that she shouldnt become a vampire, she is actually acting selfless because she is only wanting what she thinks is best for bella. she doesnt want her to be condemned to the same life that her family is, she wants her to have choices, and oppurtunities. the chances and choices that she never had. she will always be the 18 version of herself, and my heart really does feel sad for her.

Sliding Scale of Humanity?

Rank the Cullens (include Bella and Renesmee if you like) from the MOST VAMPIRE-LIKE to the MOST HUMAN-LIKE.

You can define this however you like, whether it’s based on current or past behaviors, attitudes, the degree to which they embrace their vampirism, how much they interact with/value humans, whatever.

Cullen Birth Order?

Okay, so we all know that Jasper is the oldest of the Cullen ‘children’ in terms of when he was born but also the newest vegetarian.  Edward is the “firstborn” because he was with Carlisle first, but he’s also the youngest in age.  Do you see Edward as the eldest brother, or the youngest?  If you had to put them in order according to their role in the family (not their ages or what order they joined the family, but the part they play “older brother” vs “younger brother”, “older sister” vs “younger sister”) what would that order be?  Who plays the part of the “oldest” sibling and who is the “baby” of the family, in your opinion?  Where do the rest fall?
